Munchies® devices are used to assist in seating thermoplastic orthodontic aligners or retainers. The Munchies® family of devices were designed to make orthodontic treatment more predictable, minimise your overall treatment times and to alleviate the discomfort often arising when forces are applied to your teeth. Building on the success of the Munchies® EPS, MAXX, Mantain + Aligned Changeover product lines — D+I was presented with the concept for the Munchies® Vibe. The Vibe was envisioned as a small device designed to deliver specific high-frequency vibratory forces, anatomically targeted through a new series of optimised morphological shaped nodular attachments — resulting in better orthodontic aligner treatment seating + outcomes. Munchies® Vibe needed rewrite the future of clear aligner therapy treatments.

High-Frequency Vibration

Munchies® Vibe delivers controlled and symmetrical acceleration (through osteoclastic activation) and optimised aligner seating which leads to faster and more predictable orthodontic movements. The acceleration outcome is achieved through the delivery of specific high-frequency vibratory forces which are anatomically targeted through morphologically shaped nodular attachments. The anterior nodular attachment engages all maxillary and mandibular anterior teeth: The posterior nodular attachment engages all premolar and molar teeth, regardless of the occlusal plane. The grooved anterior attachments are designed to apply high-frequency vibration to anterior teeth which may be lagging during treatment. Additional seating in areas that may be lagging can be achieved by using the specific grooved anterior attachments as directed.

The Vibe Kit

The Munchies® Vibe Kit includes: Munchies EPS, newly optimised morphologically shaped nodular attachments (Anterior, Posterior + Grooved attachments), the Vibe + Protective carry case. Munchies Vibe + attachments assist in increasing predictability of orthodontic movements by delivering specific high-frequency acceleration forces, increasing osteoclastic activity. The Vibe has been designed to provide significant coronal encapsulation of each tooth + controlled acceleration and optimised aligned seating. The ideal protocol for use is to utilise once per day for 12 minutes: 4 minutes on each side of the mouth of the posterior nodular attachment and then 4 minutes using the anterior nodular attachment. This protocol is integrated with use during the day at every aligner reinsertion using the Munchies EPS device.
